Advancing
Sunfield Elementary will advance 20% of the entries in every category, including special artists. Eligible students may enter any or all of the six art categories. Multiple entries within a single arts category are permitted*. Each entry must be the original work of one student and created specifically for the Reflections program based on the national theme.
Each submission can receive a maximum of 40 points during judging, see rubric below. Please note how important interpretation of the theme is. The statement gives the artist an opportunity to explain their interpretation.
Note: If your student is not writing yet, you may try voice to text or adult dictation. The dictation must be 100% accurate – do not reword anything.
*Because this is everyone’s first time with Reflections at Sunfield, the PTA is focusing communication and resources around the Visual Arts category. This includes the following mediums: 2D original print, drawing, painting, collage (cut and pasted materials such as clippings and photos), metal etching or punch work, fiber work or computer-generated artwork. However, there are 5 other categories available. Please reach out to reflections@sunfieldelementarypta.org if you intend to enter another category so we can setup judging etc.
